Tyler Mathieson is a Rapid City–based stand-up comedian whose storytelling blends observational humor, Midwestern sensibilities, and a millennial perspective on everyday life. A clean comic who is just as comfortable in bars and comedy clubs as he is at churches or corporate events, Tyler’s material explores the absurdities of adulthood, awkward life experiences, and the occasional strange moment that comes from being a Christian in the modern comedy scene.
Tyler performs regularly throughout the Northern Plains, appearing at venues across Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Colorado. He is a regular headliner and feature at West River Comedy Club and has performed three times at the Black Hills Comedy Festival. He has also shared the stage with comedians including Zac Maas, Big Irish Jay, David Gborie, Mike Glazer, Matt Cobos, Jeff Shaw, Nick Murphy, and Mike Hammock.
Before comedy, Tyler worked as a teacher, football coach, journalist, and photographer—experiences that now fuel many of his stories on stage. He also co-hosts the comedy podcast Things Might Happen.
